Najib unveils 9 more EPP projects

The projects, combined with 14 projects announced earlier, will involve total investment of RM14.75 billion and generate 88,354 job opportunities.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today unveiled nine more EPP projects which, combined with 14 projects announced since the last update of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), represents a combined 23 projects with total investment worth RM14.75 billion.

Speaking at the 4th ETP progress update, Najib said the 23 projects will also generate RM20.1 billion GNI and 88,354 job opportunities.

The nine new projects are under the tourism, heathcare, agriculture, palm oil and rubber,electronics and electrical, oil, gas and energy NKEAs.

Najib said total potentiai investment for this year is RM127bil. He saidd some of the planned investment may not be realised.

"It is possible that some of them may be delayed, postponed or even cancelled. Nonetheless, it does give us confidence that we can achieve then RM83bil target for 2011," he said.
