Ong is CEO of Private Pension Administrator

KUALA LUMPUR: The Private Pension Administrator (PPA) has appointed Datuk Steve Ong Chong Gain as its chief executive officer with effect from today.

Ong's appointment was made with the approval of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

Prior to his appointment, Ong was the chief executive officer of ING Funds Bhd, the company he was entrusted to start up in 2003.

Ong, a certified financial planner and licensed fund management representative, has 30 years experience in the capital market industry.

The PPA was established to administer, oversee and promote the growth and operation of the private retirement scheme (PRS) industry.

The PRS is a voluntary long-term investment scheme to help individuals accumulate savings for retirement. The scheme was designed to complement the mandatory contributions made to the Employees Provident Fund.
